by NoraJeanne The Perfect Ruby Ring
Apparently, Peoples didn?t like my original review of this product since it hasn?t appeared here yet. I really believe that this product NEEDS a review, so I?m trying again.
I originally purchased the mystic topaz version of this same ring, however, I had to return it because the titanium coating on the back of the center stone was worn or rubbed off in spots; leaving the center stone partially colorless. There were several other quality issues as well. Anyway, I decided to exchange the topaz ring for this ruby ring, and I am very glad that I did.
The ruby is a bright, lipstick red which reflects a range of colors from deep red to hot pink depending on the shade of light. It is important to remember the difference between lab-created and synthetic stones. Synthetic stones are simply put ? fake. This lab-created stone is fundamentally identical to a natural mined ruby, with the exception that lab-created stones are for the most part, flawless. Considering that a natural, flawless 4 carat ruby is not financially possible for most people, this ring is a great value! The effect is equally beautiful, and no one needs to know that your ring had origins in a laboratory unless you tell them so.
Getting back to the ring itself, the setting is high and in sleek 10K white gold which shines exquisitely. Some people might take issue with the ring?s band being thin, but personally, I find it to be more comfortable to wear because of this. The style itself is classic without being dated.
The white sapphires are a little disappointing because they do not reflect the rainbow hues that diamonds will. The white sapphires are colorless and though they shine a little, the overall effect is somewhat dull. And the diamonds mentioned in the item?s description appear on the band. There are 4 of them spaced in between with a small section of raised gold. I couldn?t get a good photo of this, but the diamonds are pretty much microscopic and don?t really make an impression. Anyway, aside from that, the sparkle of the ruby and the ring?s overall design are what really sold me. The ruby is the perfect size and makes a flashy impression without being gaudy.
My first ring was given to a family member as a present, but I ended up purchasing another for myself because I loved it so much. I have been complimented on it every day I've worn it.
I would recommend this ring as a birthstone ring, an alternative graduation ring, or even a non-traditional engagement ring if you?re on a budget. A lot of people are gravitating away from the boring, diamond solitaire style of engagement rings. This fiery, ruby ring is an excellent unconventional option.
