Trade-in and Upgrade Key Facts

• Only Peoples Jewellers diamond jewellery items qualify for trade-in upgrade services.
• Trade-ins are awarded the full value of the original purchase price.
• The purchase price of the upgrade must be double the original purchase price or more.
• Color gemstones, pearl jewellery and Previously Owned Treasures are not eligible for trade-in.
• Trade-ins can be completed in most Peoples Jewellers stores. At this time, trade-ins cannot be completed online.

What Qualifies for Upgrades?

Our diamond trade-in and upgrade services only apply to diamond jewellery* purchased at Peoples Jewellers. For instance, a diamond ring purchased at Peoples Jewellers can be traded for a new diamond ring, diamond bracelet or any new diamond jewellery piece of your choice. To be eligible for the upgrade, your new piece must be priced at least double the purchase price of your original jewellery. For example, if your original earrings were purchased at Peoples Jewellers for $500, your new purchase must be priced at $1,000 or more.

Because your trade-in eligible jewellery was purchased at Peoples Jewellers, our experts will be able to offer you the full value of the original purchase price (charges like tax and shipping are excluded). Store credit cannot be issued for a trade-in, so your new jewellery must be selected at the time of the upgrade.

*Natural diamonds can only be traded-in for natural or lab-created diamonds and lab-created diamonds can only be traded-in for lab-created diamonds.

What's Excluded from Upgrades?

Because upgrades apply exclusively to diamond jewellery, pieces that only feature pearls, emeralds, sapphires, or any other gemstones are not eligible for trade-in. For this same reason, your trade-in cannot be used to purchase new gemstone jewellery. Diamonds that are chipped, cracked or have been damaged are not eligible for upgrade.
