Named after the Latin word "granatum," garnet has been a treasured gemstone for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians regarded the garnet as a symbol of life, and in more modern times, garnets were thought to represent eternity and commitment.

Care

Like most gemstones, garnets should be stored separately to keep from scratching or being scratched. Store them in a lined box or a soft pouch. Avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaners, and keep your garnet sparkling by cleaning it under warm running water with a mild soap. Dry with a soft, lint‐free cloth.
